Privacy Policy – Smallgram for Telegram
Smallgram for Telegram (the “App”) is a third-party client that allows you to access your Telegram account on supported devices. Smallgram is not an official Telegram product and is not affiliated with Telegram FZ-LLC.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and what choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Access and Collect
1.1 Telegram account and profile information
To let you sign in and use your Telegram account through the App, we may access, via the official Telegram API:
- Phone number or other login information you provide to Telegram
- Telegram user ID, username, display name, and profile photo
- Basic information about your chats, channels, groups and contacts, as provided by Telegram
This information is processed only to provide you with Telegram functionality in the App.
1.2 Messages and media content
To display your conversations, the App may access:
- Text messages, media files (images, videos, audio, documents), and other content that Telegram sends to the client
- Message metadata such as sender, recipient, timestamps, and chat identifiers
This data is provided and controlled by Telegram. The App uses it only to show your Telegram content on your device and to send your messages through Telegram.
1.3 Device and usage data (Firebase)
To maintain and improve the stability and performance of the App, we use Google Firebase services, including but not limited to Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (or Google Analytics for Firebase). These services may automatically collect certain information, such as:
- Device information (device model, operating system version, language, screen size)
- App information (app version, installation timestamp)
- IP address at the time of the request
- Anonymous identifiers generated by Firebase (for example, Instance ID or similar identifiers)
- Events related to how you use the App (for example, screens opened, button taps, session duration)
- Crash and error information (for example, stack traces, device state at the time of crash)
We use this information only to:
- Diagnose crashes and technical issues
- Understand how features are used
- Improve the stability, performance, and user experience of the App
We do not use Firebase data for personalized advertising within this App.
2. Information We Do Not Store or Collect on Our Own Servers
We do not operate our own backend servers for user data related to your Telegram content.
- We do not store your Telegram messages, media, contacts, or login credentials on our own servers.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- Apart from the Firebase services described above and the Telegram API itself, we do not share your personal information with third parties for their marketing or advertising purposes.
- In particular, we do not collect or store your physical address or email address for our own purposes. Any such information that may appear in your Telegram profile or messages is processed and stored by Telegram, and the App only displays it locally on your device.
All Telegram data is processed either locally on your device or through the official Telegram servers, according to Telegram’s own Terms and Privacy Policy.
3. How We Use the Information
We use the information described above only for the following purposes:

- Authenticate you with Telegram and keep you signed in
- Display your chats, channels, groups, and media content
- Send and receive messages through Telegram’s infrastructure

- Diagnose crashes and technical issues (via Firebase Crashlytics and related tools)
- Measure basic usage and performance (via Firebase Analytics)
- Improve features, performance, and overall user experience
We do not use your Telegram messages or contacts for profiling or targeted advertising.
4. Data Storage, Security, and Retention
- Telegram account data and message content may be cached locally on your device as required for the App to function. This local cache is stored only on your device; it is not transmitted to or stored on any servers that we control.
- Firebase data is stored and processed on Google’s servers in accordance with Google’s terms and privacy policies.
- We apply reasonable technical measures to help protect local data on your device, relying on the security features of the operating system.
We retain locally cached data only as long as it is needed for the App to operate. When you log out or uninstall the App, the cached Telegram data associated with the App on that device is removed. Firebase may retain aggregated and log data for a period defined by Google; we do not individually identify or manually process this data.
5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We may share or allow access to your information only in the following limited situations:
- Telegram – All messaging and account operations are handled through the official Telegram API and Telegram’s own servers. Telegram’s processing of your data is governed by Telegram’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Google Firebase – We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (or Google Analytics for Firebase) to collect crash reports and usage statistics.
- Google may process this data on our behalf to provide analytics and crash reporting services.
- This may involve the transfer of data to servers located in other countries.
- Google’s use of this data is further described in Google’s own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements – We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests, such as a court order or government demand.
We do not disclose your Telegram message content to any other third parties.
6. Your Choices and Data Deletion
- Log out of Telegram in the App – You can sign out at any time. This will remove your current Telegram session and associated local data used by the App on that device.
- Uninstall the App – Removing the App from your device will delete all data stored by the App on that device.
- Device or OS privacy settings – Depending on your device and platform, you may limit certain types of analytics or advertising identifiers at the system level.
For data processed by Telegram or Firebase, you may also need to refer to their respective privacy policies and settings to exercise your rights.

7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App may be used in different countries and regions. By using the App, you understand that your information may be processed:
- By Telegram, on its servers located in various countries, and
- By Google Firebase, on servers operated by Google in various countries,
in accordance with their respective terms and privacy policies. We do not operate our own servers to store your Telegram content in other countries.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we handle your information.
